From the age of 16, I played drums in many rock bands. Toured the southeast opening for bands such as jakyll and derek st. holmes and many others. I was heavily into drugs and drinking. I also smoked from the age of 14. I had many chances but never understood why i couldn't make it big in the rock scene. GOD has plans for you even before you get saved. I got saved in the summer of 1995 after watching the LORD change my grandfather into a completely different person. we're talkin 180 degrees. My life slowly began to change. But, it wasn't until I went to a Joyce Meyer conference that my life made a big change. My life was in shambles, my marriage was kaput, I was doing even more drugs and drinking. I was spinning my wheels but wasn't making it to the show. At the conference I prayed to recieve the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. I left the conference disoriented and on a serious spiritual high that was way better than any drug I had ever done. Over the next 2 weeks my life seemed to really fall apart. But i began to call things as though they are even though they not be. One night I cried myself to sleep as usual. And i know the LORD woke me up at around 3 am. How do I know it was him? because everything he said came true. He said to me.... Pat I have a miracle for you!! I'm going to save your marriage and i have a plan for you and your wife Mitzi. All I could say was yes LORD. Then he hits me with it....There are some things you must do first!! and i said yes LORD!! He said quit smoking pot, quit doing drugs,quit drinking, and quit the band and I even I will save your marriage. So I said yes LORD but I need your help, the drugs and drinking no problem but the band you'll have to make it easy to quit the band.we had further conversation then 3 days later the guys in the band called me and asked me if I was quitting the band. I said yes. Three years later I am Drug free, alcohol free, tobacco free. my marriage is stronger than ever and my wife and I have been interim youth ministers for over 2 years and I am studying to be a youth pastor. To GOD be the GLORY and theres even more to this story.but not enough room here.
